Niger Gov Salutes Sultan at 60 ‘a Relentless Bridge Builder’

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has felicitated with the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of Nigeria National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Sa’ad III on his 60th birthday.

In a message signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Governor Sani Bello showered encomiums on the royal father describing him a relentless leader who build bridges across ethno-religious divide to ensure peace and unity of the country.

The Governor acknowledged the wisdom and strong nationalistic character of the monarch stressing that his sincerity and courage in the prompt condemnation of violent extremism has contributed in changing the mindset of those who have negative perception of the Islamic faith.

He also noted that the Sultan’s fatherly counsel and advice on good governance and other national issues has greatly enriched the government of the day in its deliberate effort to bring change and improve on the well-being of the people.

Governor Sani Bello stated that, as the head of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and President-General of NSCIA, Sultan Abubakar Sa’ad has also demonstrated uncommon leadership in establishing unity among the Muslim Ummah.

The Governor, on behalf of government and people of Niger State, prayed Allah to grant the royal father many more years of prosperity, good health and dedicated service to the country in particular and humanity in general.

Sultan Abubakar Sa’ad, who turned 60 on August 24, 2016, quit the Nigerian Army as a Brigadier General to become the 20th Sultan in November 2006, following the demise of his brother Sultan Muhammad Maccido.
