The District Head of Jimeta Metropolis in Yola, Adamawa, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa, has appealed to the Jimeta Community to help repair his burnt palace.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the palace was burnt in 2015 by mob when he (District Head) suspended the Imam of Jimeta Central mosque.
Inuwa made the call Saturday in Yola during a Town Hall meeting organized by Jimeta Progressive Association (JIPA).
“My palace was burnt and has remained so, with nobody coming to assist in repairing it; I am now 2 from my house with no privacy,” Inuwa said.
He lamented the problem of lack of respect for leaders and constituted authorities among the youths in the metropolis and called for a change of attitude.
“We must respect our leaders and elders; we should pray for them and support them to succeed,” he admonished.
The District Head lauded Gov. Muhammadu Bindow for constructing roads in Jimeta metropolis, just as he cautioned his people against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drains.
He also warned those erecting illegal structures along the highways to desist from the act or face his wrath.
“Those erecting illegal structures on the roads must stop as I am ready to lead in demolishing such structures”, Inuwa warned.
