2 Charged with N1.9m Catalysts Theft in Lagos | METROWATCH

 Two men, Taofeek Saminu and Ikechukwu Iloh, who allegedly stole 10 pieces of catalyst valued at N1.9 million, were on Thursday brought before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Saminu, 35, and Iloh, 41, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They, however,  pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the duo committed the offences on Dec. 6, about 12.00 a.m. at No. 3, Adifat Yusuf St., Ijegun, Lagos State.
According to him, the defendant and others at large, stole the catalyst from the complainant, Mr David Kalu.
Aigbokhan said that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law  of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo, granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties should be gainfully employed and show evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until Jan. 16, 2024, for mention.
