A Nollywood veteran-turned politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has expressed optimism that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will win the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in an interview on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a programme on Channels Television on Monday, Okonkwo stated that the opposition party would not form the government but also send President Bola Tinubu back to his home at Bourdillon. ‎

‎‎”In 2027, we stand a chance in every election in Nigeria, but I wouldn’t say the same thing for any election for which the primaries have been conducted before the coming into existence of David Mark leadership, because they were not part of the people that decided.

‎‎”That is why I’m saying the true test of ADC will be in 2027. We are going to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” the lawyer said.

While speaking on the structure of the ADC in the country, the ADC chieftain stated that the party exists across the 36 states, adding that in Rivers, a former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, being a prominent leader of the ADC, qualified to be addressed as the leader of the party in the state.

‎“The ADC exists in the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Rotimi Amaechi naturally is one of the prominent leaders of ADC in Rivers state and in the South-South. So, it will not be out of place if you say that he is the leader of the ADC in Rivers State,” he added.
