The All Progressives Congress, APC, has rubbished claims that it was going into flames ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, who spoke on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, said the party and its prospects have never been better.

Recent actions within the APC make it look as if there is tension brewing, with the party grappling with internal wrangling over endorsements.

The endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term has sparked backlash from Northern heavyweights.

However, Morka said the party is not in trouble, adding, “We are waxing strong. The APC and its prospects have never been better.

“You see, look, there’s a reason that serious citizens, people who have, I think, been put to the test in their constituencies, who have won elections, who have the backing of their people, who are making deliberate decisions to come into our party.

“It’s not one, it’s not two, it’s not three, it’s a whole movement of people into our party. You can’t suggest possibly that all of these people together are not thinking enough, or don’t know what they’re doing.”

He maintained that the defections to the ruling party were organic and had nothing to do with fear of survival, insisting that states like Delta and Akwa Ibom, traditionally PDP states, would still win their states remaining in the PDP, but chose to move to the national ruling party.

Morka believes that those praying and hoping for the downfall of the ruling party would be disappointed because more politicians of relevance would join the party.
