The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Orji Uzor Kalu, has stated that despite the Igbo’s need for a presidency, his preference is for the incumbent president, Bola Tinubu.
Orji Kalu made this statement on Wednesday while responding to questions in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
His comment is coming as the country gathers momentum towards the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
“Igbo needs presidency, yes. But I’m caged up in a party where I have signed to renominate president Tinubu.
“The party I belong to has chosen a presidential candidate which is president Tinubu. We have made a decision as a party to field Tinubu for the second term even though I feel it’s for Igbo president, those thoughts are no longer feasible,” he said.
