The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has described President Bola Tinubu as the best candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Yilwatda said Tinubu was the party’s preferred candidate, insisting that no other contender could match his record and vision for Nigeria.
The APC chairman made the remarks on Monday during the party’s presidential campaign rally in Calabar, Cross River State.
He also said the President was working towards building a $1 trillion economy by 2030, drawing a comparison with his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
According to Yilwatda, Tinubu’s economic policies and infrastructure projects were aimed at transforming Nigeria’s economy.
“Mr President is the candidate of choice; Tinubu is the best among all the candidates being presented for the 2027 general election,” he said.
Yilwatda added that the President’s economic vision included strengthening the country’s economic foundations and expanding infrastructure.
He specifically highlighted the proposed transformation of the Port of Calabar into a deep-sea port and its connection to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
The APC chairman said the projects would improve economic activities in Cross River State and create opportunities for businesses.
“Calabar will be the hope of the economy of Nigeria. Nobody in this state has any reason to vote for any other candidate than the president that is building your economy, he’s empowering your people, and ensuring that all the businesses in this place leverage this port,” he said.
Yilwatda urged residents of Cross River State to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the administration’s economic plans would benefit the state and the country.
