The statement, which was made available to the press, also highlighted the reaction of the Grand Patron of the foundation, His Excellency, Ambassador Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd) CFR, former Chief of Army Staff. In response to the news, Ambassador Buratai emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Going by the report I received from Delta State, this was the most monstrous and barbarous murder of soldiers in Nigeria’s contemporary history.”

Ambassador Buratai further stressed the importance of holding the culprits accountable, stating, “The culprits must be severely dealt with, to serve as a deterrence to all. Soldiers should be respected and honoured at all times for the obvious sacrifices they make in order to keep the country safe.” The Grand Patron’s remarks underscore the severity of the incident and the need for swift and decisive action.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has called for justice for the fallen soldiers and for measures to be taken to prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future. The stories of the killings have been described as grisly, further highlighting the brutality of the attack.

As the nation mourns the loss of these brave soldiers, it is imperative that the authorities take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of all peacekeepers and military personnel serving in conflict zones.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation’s strong condemnation of the brutal killings serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding humanity and justice in all circumstances. The nation stands united in honouring the memory of the fallen soldiers and in demanding accountability for this senseless act of violence.
