Rasheedat Ajibade, Super Falcons captain, has announced the team is ready for the match against Brazil.
Metrowatch reports that the nine-time African champions will face the Samba Girls in their first women’s football game at the 2024 Olympic Games on Thursday (today).
The match at Bordeaux’s Matmut Atlantique Stadium will begin at 6 p.m. Nigeria time.
Brazil defeated the Super Falcons in their last two games and is the clear favourite to win the forthcoming match.
Ajibade, however, said the Super Falcons are battle-ready for the task ahead.
“Playing in professional leagues, we encounter many players from different countries, including Brazil,” Ajibade was quoted by 54footballx.
“I can provide the team with insights on how specific players operate, especially those I have played with or against in Spain and Brazil. We can pool our knowledge to help the team succeed in the Olympics.”
