Beyoncé has won her first-ever win for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
On Sunday, her country album ‘Cowboy Carter’ won the Record of the Year award at the 2025 Grammys.
She is the first black woman to win ‘Album of the Year’ at the Grammy Awards since Lauryn Hill in 1999.
‘Cowboy Carter’ also won Best Country Album of the Year, making Beyoncé the first black woman to win a Grammy in the country category in more than 50 years.
Beyoncé has extended her record for the most Grammy trophies in history, with 35.
Last year, her husband Jay-Z openly criticized the Recording Academy’s judgment, pointing out that, despite being the most rewarded person in Grammy history, Beyoncé had never received the Album of the Year award.
