Hon. Collins Edomaruse, on Friday, hosted the executives and leaders of the APC from both Igbanke East and West Wards and LGA executives from Igbanke in a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening party unity and rallying grassroots support for the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
The well-attended gathering, held in Igbanke, was described by many as historic — being the first of its kind convened by a political appointee of the Executive Governor from the area.
In his remarks, Hon. Edomaruse, who currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor on International Development Partners, expressed deep appreciation to the party faithful for their consistent loyalty and commitment to the APC over the years, especially since his appointment.
“I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support and belief in our great party,” Hon. Edomaruse said. “This meeting is not just a formality — it is a strategic step toward fostering closer collaboration between the grassroots and the state government. As a son of Igbanke, my responsibility is to carry you along and ensure our people are not left out in the development agenda of Governor Okpebholo.”
He emphasized the need for unity among the party ranks, urging stakeholders to remain focused, organized, and committed to the success of the Governor Okpebholo administration.
“We must all come together to support the developmental agenda of our Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo. His vision for Edo State is clear and people-centered. It is our duty to ensure that Igbanke is fully aligned with that vision,” Hon. Edomaruse added.
Leaders from both Wards, while taking turns to speak, commended Hon. Edomaruse for his inclusive leadership style and described the meeting as a bold and unprecedented gesture that rekindles hope among party faithful at the grassroots.
“This is the first time a political appointee of the Governor is convening a meeting of this scale with local leaders in Igbanke. It shows humility, leadership, and a true commitment to inclusive governance,” they said.
The party leaders praised Hon. Edomaruse for his accessibility and drive. “We are proud of you. Your appointment has brought us closer to the heartbeat of the government. You can count on our continuous support.
“The Governor made the right choice in appointing you. We see your efforts and we are ready to support you and the party all the way.”
In a unanimous resolution, the ward executives and leaders pledged their total loyalty to Governor Okpebholo’s administration and vowed to work closely with Hon. Edomaruse to ensure APC remains strong and victorious in Igbanke.
The meeting ended on a high note, with prayers offered for continued unity, progress, and political stability in Igbanke. Attendees also departed with a renewed sense of purpose, commitment, and solidarity with the state government.
