Meet DSP Umar Musa Isah, Police Academy’s New Public Relations Officer

Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Umar Musa Isah (MLCJ, MNIP, MNSPS) hails from Borno State. DSP Isah brings a wealth of experience and education to his new position as Police Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Academy.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a member of the Regular Course, an esteemed program within the Nigeria Police Academy.

Throughout his career, DSP Isah has served in various capacities within the Nigeria Police Force, demonstrating versatility and commitment to duty.

His previous roles include serving as Commander, Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit, Edo North, Edo State; Officer-in-Charge of Provost at the Nigeria Police College, Kaduna; Officer-in-Charge of Provost at the Yobe State Government House; Patrol Commander for the Yobe State Command; Divisional Crime Officer, Sabon-Gari Zaria Division, Kaduna State; Team Leader, Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit, Edo State; and Second-in-Command of the D4 Section of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Edo State.

These positions have equipped him with crucial skills and insights into the operational aspects of law enforcement.

In addition to his extensive experience, DSP Isah is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Physics and the Nigerian Society of Physical Scientists. His commitment to professional development is further evidenced by his participation in various training programs, both in Nigeria and abroad.

Notably, DSP Isah has completed courses in digital forensics, OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) gathering, web design, and data processing through the International Security Organization. He has also been recognized as an international nuclear technician, having conducted research in uranium exploration and been awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree (Honoris Causa).

As the new spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Academy, DSP Isah emphasizes the importance of collaboration with the public to ensure the effective discharge of his duties, which he is committed to executing around the clock.
