The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has described the Saturday’s attack on Yelewata community in Benue State as disheartening and devastating.

According to reports, over 300 persons lost their lives in the gruesome assault allegedly carried out by suspected herdsmen.

Enenche, who cut short his journey to Kebbi State to visit the grieving community, described the attack as “devastating and heartbreaking.”

The cleric, alongside his wife, extended his condolences to other Benue communities, including Apa, Agatu, Otukpo, Gwer West, and others, that have recently suffered similar assaults.

He called on relevant authorities to take decisive action to end the recurring menace.

“We were in Europe last week when we received the news. It was very disheartening, painful and devastating. We couldn’t return immediately, but once we got back, we knew we had to come physically,” Enenche said.

“We came here to assess the situation on ground, to commiserate with the people, and to bring a message of peace and love from God. We believe this situation cannot continue. Whatever the leadership of our land must do, it should be done to bring lasting peace to Benue State.”
