The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has raised the alarm that the trespasser involved in the demolition of the property of the Next Foods Limited, owned by his younger brother, Ndibe Obi, has begun erecting a fence within the premises, in what appears to be an attempt to divide the land into two.

In a post on X, Obi condemned the development, describing it as a blatant act of trespass and a direct assault on the rule of law.

According to him, the secrecy and desperation surrounding the act “speak volumes.”

He further asserted that the action reeks of impunity and appears to be a calculated attempt to complicate ongoing legal proceedings.

Obi expressed hope that justice would be served in accordance with the law.

“The legal counsel to Next Foods Limited, acting on the instruction of the company’s CEO, my younger brother, Ndibe Obi, has taken the matter to court over the Ikeja property that was unlawfully demolished after a trespasser misled the court into granting an unjust possession order.

I have now been informed that the same trespasser, under the cover of night, is erecting a fence within the premises in an apparent attempt to divide the land into two,” he wrote.
