The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has announced that online applications for admission into its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes will begin on July 28, 2025, and close on September 8, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Umar Musa Isah, on behalf of the Commandant, the Academy called on qualified young Nigerians to seize the opportunity to join the institution.
“The Academy offers a unique opportunity for young Nigerians to receive comprehensive academic and professional training that will prepare them for a career as Police Officers,” the statement read.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must be Nigerian by birth and possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN). They must also have a minimum JAMB score of 180 in the 2025 UTME and must have selected the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first-choice institution.
Additionally, candidates are expected to possess at least six credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent. Applicants must be between 16 and 21 years old by October 31, 2025, and meet the minimum height requirements of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females. Male candidates must also have a minimum chest measurement of 86cm (34 inches).
“Applicants must be unmarried, not pregnant at the time of admission, and must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit,” the statement added, noting that SSCE results obtained before 2021 will not be accepted.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are to visit the Academy’s website, www.admission.polac.edu.ng, to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code. A non-refundable fee of ₦6,000 (inclusive of ₦2,000 for Post-UTME) must be paid through any commercial bank.
After payment, applicants should complete the online form and upload scanned copies of their credentials, including their SSCE Certificate, Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age, and Certificate of Origin. Completed forms and guarantor forms must be printed and presented during the Aptitude Test.
Selection Process
The Academy explained that the selection process would include:
1. Aptitude Test (Computer-Based Test) – date to be communicated later.
2. Automated Physical Screening – where shortlisted candidates will present original documents, certificates of fitness, good character, and indigene certificates signed by relevant authorities.
3. Automated Medical Screening.
4. Automated Interview/Selection Exercise.
All successful candidates will be contacted via SMS and email, after which training will commence on a date to be announced.
Available Courses and Duration
Degree programmes are offered under three faculties:
• Faculty of Humanities (e.g., English, History & International Studies, Linguistics)
• Faculty of Science (e.g., Biochemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science)
• Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (e.g., Accounting, Criminology, Psychology, Political Science, Education Management)
Successful candidates will undergo five years of academic and police training, culminating in the award of a Bachelor’s Degree and commissioning as Assistant Superintendent of Police II in the Nigeria Police Force.
