The attacks reportedly included abductions in Ngoshe and coordinated assaults on military locations in Konduga, Marte, Jakana and Mainok.

In a statement shared by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, office of the Vice President on X, Shettima condemned the violence and said the government remains determined to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.

He said the federal government has begun deploying more tactical equipment and intelligence support to the affected areas.

“The events of the past few days are painful, but we must choose hope over fear,” he said.

He added that President Tinubu has already been briefed about the situation and has ordered a quick and full mobilisation of Nigeria’s security system.

“The Federal Government will not allow any place in Nigeria to become a safe haven for people who want to displace citizens or take over any part of our land,” the vice president said.

Shettima also assured Nigerians that those responsible for the attacks would face the full force of the law.
