Protesters on Thursday stormed the streets of Abuja, calling on opposition leaders such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Senate President David Mark to stay away from the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Nafiu Bala, the factional National Chairman of the ADC, led the demonstration and accused the political figures of attempting to hijack the party.
ADC House of Representatives member Leke Abejide joined Bala as they marched with supporters carrying placards with various inscriptions. Some of the placards had inscriptions such as ‘Woe to Political Marauders’, and ‘Hon. Nafiu Bala, We Stand With You.
This seems to be a counter-protest after an earlier demonstration by the David Mark faction at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
