The Presidency has criticised the campaign council of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing its members as content creators rather than experienced politicians.
The criticism followed the emergence of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as a prominent figure in the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Presidency questioned the political experience of members of the campaign council, suggesting that the group lacked established political figures capable of mounting a strong challenge in the forthcoming election.
The comments come amid growing political activities as opposition figures position themselves for the 2027 presidential race.
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party, has continued to feature prominently in discussions about the opposition’s chances of challenging President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The former governor has attracted support from Nigerians seeking alternatives to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, the Presidency’s remarks have added to the political exchanges between supporters of the Tinubu administration and opposition figures ahead of the next general election.
