AANI CELEBRATES CORPS MARSHAL/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY CORPS, ALHAJI SHEHU MOHAMMED, mni FCA FCTI CPFA FCILT, SULUKIN AREWAN ZAZZAU, ON HIS BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY TODAY
The President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, on behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire AANI family, joyfully felicitates with one of our esteemed members, the highly revered Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Alhaji Shehu Usman Mohammed, mni FCA FCTI CPFA FCILT, Sulukin Arewan Zazzau, SEC 43, 2021, as he marks his birthday anniversary today, Thursday, 29th May 2025.
AANI is celebrating him because of his commitment to the association, continued contribution to national development and road safety in our country.
Born on this auspicious day in 1966 in the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna State, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed mni embodies a rare blend of intellectual prowess, dedication, and exemplary leadership since childhood.
More so, his life’s journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, beginning with his foundational education at Kwarbai Primary School and Kufena College, Zaria.
This led him to obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
His continuous quest for academic excellence further saw him acquire Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Birmingham City University and a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Salford University, United Kingdom, truly setting him apart as a distinguished scholar and visionary leader.
A quintessential gentleman, outstanding public servant and accomplished technocrat, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed mni’s illustrious career within the FRSC bears eloquent testimony to his profound impact on national development. From his early days as Sector Accountant in Kaduna and Zonal Accountant in Sokoto, to roles at the National Headquarters as Staff Officer Finance, Deputy Head of Internal Audit and later as Zonal Auditor covering multiple states, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional diligence and strategic acumen. His ascent to Assistant Corps Marshal and his appointment as Zonal Commanding Officer of Zone RS7, overseeing operational commands in the FCT and Niger States, clearly showcases a career built on integrity and selfless commitment to public service.
Since assuming the mantle of leadership as Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of FRSC in May 2024, Alhaji Shehu Mohammed mni has brought unprecedented development, innovation, accountability and professional rigour to the Corps. He has remarkably transformed the organisation with sterling accomplishments, strategic reforms and renewed operational vigour, significantly advancing its mission of road safety, discipline and lifesaving interventions across the federation. His groundbreaking initiatives in the Finance and Accounts department, particularly in capacity building and teamwork, have been widely acclaimed as one of the best. Furthermore, his prudent and dexterous management as President of the Staff Cooperative Society, culminating in the disbursement of dividends and his impressive role in easing the Road Safety Football Club out of relegation, further exemplify his versatile leadership acumen and dedication to staff welfare. His stewardship has also redefined standards in public finance management, audit transparency, and operational efficiency within the Corps.
Beyond his sterling service, the celebrant’s robust academic portfolio and numerous fellowships, both at home and abroad, attest to his pursuit of lifelong learning and professional excellence. His vast professional affiliations, including his membership of the National Institute, his fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CITN), Institute of Safety Professionals (ISPON), and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) (FCA), alongside his membership in the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Association of Project Management (APM), UK, firmly establish him as a distinguished figure in both public finance and administration, a thought leader and strategist.
His active involvement in community development, professional bodies and national think tanks such as our alma mater, the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, continues to elevate the standards of leadership and governance in Nigeria.
A man of extraordinary character, profound intellect, and unshakable integrity, the celebrant’s qualities have earned him numerous accolades, including the Royalty Magazine Award and multiple commendations from the FRSC Management and its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Monitoring Unit.
His mantra, “Humility is the solid foundation of all virtues,” truly reflects the essence of his leadership and his interactions, embodying the values of integrity, humility and transformational leadership worthy of emulation.
As a proud member of the AANI family, his commitment to the association and contributions to our collective mission of promoting a better society through support to the association, sound public policy and ethical leadership are deeply appreciated. Similarly, his legacy of mentorship, prudence, and purpose-driven service remains an inspiration to many within and beyond the public sector.
Therefore, on this auspicious day, the entire AANI family joins his beloved family, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers in wishing him a happy birthday, celebrating a distinguished patriot, a servant-leader par excellence, and a true icon of public administration.
