Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has alleged that there is a clandestine plan by Boko Haram to regroup and form an alternate base for operations in Adamawa state.

The essence of the new base obviously is to escape from the heat mounted on them by the military by operation Hadin Kai in the Borno axis of the war theatre.

The Governor gave the hint in the Government House Yola recently while receiving the new Brigade Commander of the 23rd Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Gambo.

Fintiri noted that intelligence report so far reveals that the terrorists hope to set up their base in Hong and Maiha council areas of the state.

He added however that security agencies were monitoring their movements to ensure that the group never succeeds in actually establishing any new base in the state.

The Governor charged the new brigade Commander to help the state address some of its internal security challenges as it manifests.

He expressed the capability of the Brigade Commander to face the challenges ahead and hoped that he will have a good synergy with other security agencies to combat crime and criminality by insurgents.

Responding, the new Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Mohammed Gambo pledged to work hard to further stem the security tide across Adamawa.

He solicited for the support and cooperation of the government and sister agencies in discharging his  responsibilities to addressing the security challenges in the state as they manifest.
