Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has urged African governments to prevent Kemi Badenoch, the head of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, from visiting the continent following her statements regarding Nigeria.

It was earlier reported that Badenoch has maintained her controversial stance on Nigeria despite Vice President Kashim Shettima and others saying she denigrated the nation.

Badenoch allegedly portrayed her background in Nigeria as one of dread and instability in a corrupt nation.

Kuti responded during a recent Instagram live session by calling for the head of the UK’s Conservative Party to be barred from entering Africa.

“Many have been praising this woman [Kemi Badenoch]; someone who has been insulting us, not only us but our ancestors. She said we should pay Europeans for colonialism.

“She’s saying we should pay them for killing millions of our ancestors; for all the atrocities that they committed in our lands.

“She’s someone who should be banned by African governments from stepping into Africa. Once she steps into Africa, she should be jailed.”
