The Director-General (D-G), National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Muhammad Fadah, has advised youth corps members to be patient, hardworking and avoid shortcut to success.
This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Eddy Megwa, the Director, Press and Public Relations on Monday in Abuja.
According to him, Fadah gave the admonition while addressing youth corps members during his visit to Yikpata, NYSC Kwara State Orientation Camp.
He urged them to embrace dignity of labour which was the hallmark of a successful leader.
He said that their potential as graduates of different courses had placed them on the ladder of success, but they need to be disciplined because impatience could jeopardise their future ambitions.
“Please be patient and avoid any form of shortcut to success. NYSC has no place for fraud, cybercrime, drug abuse and other forms of social vices.
“Anyone that is caught violating NYSC laws would be sanctioned appropriately,’’ he said.
Fadah urged the Corps Members to be conscious of their security, during and even after their service year, adding that he would ensure the safety of all youth corps members.
He also admonished the youth corps members to obey the rules and regulations in their respective places of primary assignments.
The NYSC director-general also urged them to be patriotic and contribute their quota to National development as good ambassadors of their families, states, alma mater and the NYSC Scheme.
