Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has once again blasted the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Featuring on Channel Television’s Politics Lawal stated on Monday that Atiku has no sympathy for victims of terrorism.
He mentioned the case of Deborah Samuel, a Christian girl who was slain in Sokoto State over alleged blasphemy.
“Atiku Abubakar has no sympathy for the victims of terrorism. When Deborah Samuel was brutally murdered in Sokoto, Atiku issued a press release condemning the action.
“In the long run the following day, he withdrew it and apologised, saying it was his pressmen that issued it without his approval.
“I would have expected Atiku to say ‘we condemn what kidnapper kingpin, Turji Bello or herdsmen are doing.
“I’ve never heard him condemn when Imams go on the television and threaten that if you say anything against Prophet Muhammad, we’ll go after you and kill you. I’ve not heard him condemn that.
“I’ve not heard him condemn like the one that happened in Oyo state recently. He just kept quiet until the thing died down, then he said the government is not doing much,” Lawal said.
