Benin Airport Attack Update: Nigeria Police Fire PRO Chidi Nwanbuzor for Disparaging Senator Okpebholo | METROWATCH

Nwanbuzor, in the wake of the failed assassination attempt on Okpebholo at the Benin Airport, had described the APC governorship candidate in a statement, as "one Monday Okpebholo who is the candidate of one of the political parties for Edo 2024 election".

Superintendent of Police (SP) Chidi Nwabuzor has been removed as police public relations officer (PPRO), Edo State Command, for disparaging the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sept 21 election, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Nwabuzor, in the wake of the failed assassination attempt on Okpebholo at the Benin Airport, had described the APC governorship candidate in a statement, as “one Monday Okpebholo who is the candidate of one of the political parties for Edo 2024 election”.

In his stead, a new spokesman, SP Moses Joel Yamu, has been appointed. SP Yamu assumed duty in the Edo State Police Command on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

SP Moses Joel Yamu took over from SP Chidi Nwabuzor who was redeployed to Delta State Police Command.

SP Yamu holds a BSc in Public Administration from the Nasarawa State University and a Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (In view). Also, he is a member of the National Institute of Public Relations.

Enlisted as a Cadet ASP Course 25 and trained in the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano State.

Until his deployment to Edo, SP Moses Joel Yamu was a Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He has also served in various capacities in the force including Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Police Command and member of the Nigeria Contingent to foreign missions.

The new spokesman of the command while soliciting for cooperation from the members of the public towards the effective discharge of his duties said he could be reached on 08036363531.
