The Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha II, Thursday, 8 September 2022, appointed a former Chief of Army Staff, His Excellency, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd) as Betara of Biu Emirate.
By this appointment, Lt Gen TY Buratai (rtd), will be among the Kingmakers of the emirate as the title is the third in the hierarchy of traditional title holders of Biu Emirate.
This was contained in a letter to him by the Biu Emirate Council.
A date will soon be announced for the formal turban ing ceremony at the Emir’s palace in Biu, Borno State.
