Suspected Boko Haram this morning attacked Jakana Police Station in Konduga Council Area of Borno State, killing a police driver, including a civilian friend of his.
The terrorists’ also set ablaze two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and members of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and a motorcycle, even as some arms and ammunition were carted away by the rampaging insurgents.
Sources hinted that the terrorists stormed Jakana located along the Maiduguri-Damaturu road about 45 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital at about 1am in the morning taking the security team by surprise.
Impeccable sources who preferred anonymity in Maiduguri further revealed that the terrorists stormed the Police Station at that wee hour of the morning engaging the security agencies for about three hours, overwhelmed them, caused damnation even as they fled at about 3 am in the morning.
Attempt to get further details about the incident from the Borno State Police command was fruitless as the public relations officer Nahum Daso was not reachable for update details as at press time.
When contacted also, Chairman of Konduga council area, Abass Abari, told newsmen that “I received a distressed call that Boko Haram Terrorists attacked Jakana Police station last night.
“I am speaking with the Divisional Police Officer, and whenever I get the details I will furnish you.”
