President Bola Tinubu has nominated the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, as a non-career ambassador.

The President also named Ita Enang, a former senator; Chioma Ohakim, former Imo State first lady; and Abdulrahman Dambazau, former minister of interior and ex-Chief of Army Staff, as non-career ambassadors.

This is coming barely a week after Tinubu transmitted the names of Reno Omokri, former INEC Chairman Mahmoud Yakubu, and others to the Senate for consideration as ambassadors.

The list has, however, been greeted with criticism from various quarters.
