Buhari expresses Shock, Sadness over Kano Gas Explosion

President Muhammadu Buhari is in deep shock over the “extremely horrific” gas explosion which occurred on Friday at a factory in Kano state.

In a statement issued on Saturday evening by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, the President noted that the tragic accident was the second in the city in a month.

About 201 residents of Sharada Quarters, Kano, were reported hospitalised after inhaling chemicals from a cylinder dismantled by metal scrappers.

Buhari said: “I am shocked and pained to hear about this tragic incident, so soon after the last gas explosion.
