Buhari Visits Kuje Prison After Terror Attack

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday visited the scene of the bomb attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in Abuja.

metrowatchonline had reported that terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram on Tuesday night attacked the prison located in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Following the attack by the terrorists on the prison facility, hundreds of inmates, among them fellow terrorists, were freed.

Buhari was received by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali, paramilitary service chiefs among other top government officials.

His visit came barely hours after the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen. Mohammed Monguno, on Wednesday, led a team of security chiefs on an inspection of the Kuje prison.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the Kuje community following the terror attack prison authorities say left four people dead.

The authorities put number of escaping prisoners at 600, adding that over 300 had been rearrested, while VVIPs stayed back while the attack lasted.
