Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, CoS, Ibrahim Gambari, has disclosed that the weakness of the late ex-president was known by the cabal in his administration.
Gambari said the cabal bypassed him and smuggled memos to Buhari because the knew the former President’s weakness.
He disclosed this while featuring on Channels Television’s Inside Sources on Friday.
Gambari said the cabal knew Buhari’s weakness from their informal interaction with the late former President.
The former United Nations, UN, Special Envoy noted that Buhari had to stop the smuggling of memos by making a public pronouncement.
He said: “They knew his weak moments, they knew when to smuggle (memos) because they knew him as they interacted with him informally.
“Even the Vice President (Yemi Osinbajo), to his credit, always passed his memos through me and several ministers but our people still got their memos to him from behind because they knew his weak point and who to use and he never stopped them but the advantage I had was that the memos came back to me.”
