DHQ: Nigerian Troops Kill Several Bandits, Rescue Kidnap Victims in Katsina, Zamfara

Nigerian troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI under OPERATION ACCORD have killed several bandits and rescue kidnap victims in Katsina and Zamfara States.
Confirming the report on Sunday, Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major-General John Enenche, said troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI, on 26 June 20 foiled bandits’ attack at Mara Zamfarawa village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
He said six bandits were killed while several others escaped with gun shot wounds in the process.
Enenche further stated that on 27 Jun 20, following aggressive patrol and intelligence reports by troops at Dunya village in Danmusa Local Government Area, troops successfully arrested suspected bandits informants/collaborators.
He said the suspects are currently being interrogated and profiled for further action.
He also disclosed that the troops conducted cordon and search operations at Mara Zamfarawa and Birchi Malamawa villages in Danmusa Local Government Area and several bandits escaped with gun shots wounds in the process. He said the troops recovered four motorcycles.
Enenche also explained that troops on clearance operation at Maidabino town arrested six bandits, recovered 1 fabricated AK 47 rifle and 29 rounds of 7.62 special ammunition as well as cutlasses and charms.
He further stated on 27 Jun 20, following intelligence reports about the bandits’ action at Kurubka forest, troops immediately mobilized to the area and two of the bandits were killed during a shoot-out.
Enenche also said on 27 Jun 20, following credible information about the bandits’ hideouts at Rambadawa forest, few kilometers ahead of Kodamyo village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Zamfara State, troops immediately mobilized to the area.
He said three bandits were neutralized while others escaped with gun shot wounds and one  locally-made gun was recovered.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations  further disclosed that on 27 June 20, following credible intelligence about a kidnap incident at Yar Galadima and Mashanyin Zaki villages in Dansadau by bandits four motorcycles, troops swiftly moved to the area and successfully rescued two kidnap victims.
He said a Volkswagen Golf car with registration number MRR 47 XA was also recovered, as effort to rescue other kidnap victims have been intensified.
Enenche also stated that based on credible intelligence, troops embarked on clearance operation along bandits’ water point at the fringes of the mountain between Gummi and Tambuwal LGAs of Sokoto State.
He said the successful operation led to the neutralization of one bandit and recovery of five cell phones, cutlasses, some quantities of Indian hemp and N60,000.
He said the High Command of the Armed Forces of Nigeria congratulates the gallant troops for their dexterity and professionalism and encourages them to remain resolute in curtailing the activities of bandits in the country.
