“I later discovered that crowd of people who had gathered in front of the house were there to take possession of apartment which they had paid for” one of the victims who identified herself as S Elizabeth Aregbesola, said.
She alleged that she paid N150,000 to a man said to be in charge of the proper. She alleged that the man who turned out to be the developer collected the said amount from her for a room and parlor self-contain since October last year.
“when I got tired of his promises, I told him sometime in January that he either gives me back my money or the house. Last Monday he called to say that I should move into the house last Saturday.
“Not suspecting any foul play, I moved to take over possession as promised only for me to discover on arrival that I had been swindled” she added.

She said she handed over the said amount to the suspect who is now at large on January 14, 2014 when the one-storey building was still under construction.
“The house, as at the time I paid was at the finishing level. It only remained the windows and the doors to be fixed. He promised that when I pay, my money would be used to put the remaining things in place.
“Each time I tried to find out from him, he would always say that I should not entertain any fear, since the house had been reserved for me. So you can imagin how I felt when I discovered that I had been taken for a ride.
“Where will I go with my family, where will I start from, I have moved out of my former house, would I go back there to say I am no longer moving. I am now squatting with a friend along with my children while my husband has relocated to stay with one of his friends” she added.
