“I felicitate with my fellow Nigerians on the occasion of our Democracy Day.

“This day marks the 25th year of uninterrupted democracy in our beloved nation. And it can be best described as a milestone for our country, considering the fact that in the 64 years of independence, Nigerians have only experienced democracy between 1960-1966, 1979-1983.

“Therefore, experiencing 25 years of unbroken democracy, the longest of the stretch, from 1999-2024 is worthy of celebration.

“I am aware of the mixed feelings and memories that this day brings, and I am further aware of the socio-political and economic challenges that Nigerians are currently confronted with.

“However, clouds always make way for a bright sky, so we should not let the current situation to shake our faith in democracy, nor wave our support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“No nation is free from challenges, but great people use challenges to drive the wheel of national progress.

“We are not where we ought to be yet in our democratic march, but we are also not where we started.

“As we celebrate 25 years of enduring democracy, for us in Edo State particularly, we are grateful for the opportunity that democracy has afforded us in another off-cycle governorship election to elect a leader that will govern our dear state in the next four years come September 21st.

“As the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, with the support of all the electorates in the Heartbeat of the nation, I am poised in providing selfless leadership that will usher in the New Edo of our collective aspirations.

“We’ll prioritise the welfare and wellbeing of Edo people, and in the same-vein, we’II face infrastructural development with righteous anger, and tackle insecurity with the greatest commitment.

“Edo commonwealth will no longer be fleeced away from the state, rather, it will be used for Edo people and to develop Edo State.

“While congratulating my fellow Nigerians on the journey so far, I urge us all to remain steadfast in our commitment to democracy.

“Happy Democracy Day”!
