The Edo State House of Assembly, yesterday, expeditiously cleared Hon. Samson Raphael Osagie as the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General Designate.
Meanwhile, the clearance of Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, son of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, was reserved till the next plenary next week Monday.
Following the forwarding of the names of the two appointees by the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as Commissioner nominees, the Clerk of the House, Audu Yahaya Omogbai, read out their names at plenary yesterday.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, emphasized Osagie’s cognitive experience, having served in various capacities including twice in the State House of Assembly and House of of Representatives.
He said the decision to get him cleared is part of some of the privileges enjoyed by the former lawmaker who will now serve in the capacity of the Attorney- General of the state.
The Assembly also passed a motion urging the state government and security services to address rising kidnappings, cultism, and related killings.
