The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Right Honourable
(Pastor) Kola Oluwawole, has said that only the grace of God has
sustained the Ayodele Fayose-led administration in the state, calling
for continuous prayers to see it through the year and beyond.
Oluwawole made this statement during the monthly prayer meeting of
staff and members of the Assembly, September edition, held in the
complex in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.
According to a statement by the Speaker’s Special Assistant (Media),
Stephen Gbadamosi, Oluwawole, who ministered alongside the Chaplain of
Government House church, Pastor Seyi Olusola; and the Clerk of the
House, Deacon Tola Esan, “it is by the grace of God that we are here
today; it is by His grace that we were not consumed.
“We appreciate God for His grace over the present administration. We
thank God for the executive and legislative arms. May His grace be
sufficient for us through the remaining months of the year and
beyond.”
In his sermon, Pastor Olusola, quoting from First Peter 5:6, charged
the people of the state to submit to the will of God by humbling
themselves before Him.
“It is imperative for us to submit everything to God by humbling
ourselves before Him. Recognise God in all your ways. It is God who is
strong and mighty in battle that will fight for you for the rest of
the year. Just humble yourself before Him.
“Satan is only a roaring lion, but our God is the Lion of the tribe of
Judah,” he said.
Apart from prayers for members of the Assembly and staff, prayers were
said for leaders of the Fayose-led administration in the state, the
state itself and the nation in general.
