Alhaji Lawal Abubakar has assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State for Saturday’s Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections.
A statement by the Police spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, issued in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday warned thugs and other criminals to steer clear of the state as that it would not be business as usual.
“They should either leave the state or be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land,” the CP was quoted as saying.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support with the police and other security agencies in a bid to ensure peaceful and credible elections. (
