By Sam Kayode

President Bola Tinubu has advised the military to end any form of inter agency rivalry it may be having with other agencies.
He said this in view of the recent retaliatory action taken by some soldiers against the men of the Nigerian police in Adamawa state.
He said that the Army had no right to retaliate during such disagreements adding that doing so will contravene the ethics of their profession which is to protect the democratic process.
“you have no right to retaliate against the police for any reason at all. Let it end please ” said the President while flagging off the chief of army staff conference which has just ended in Maiduguri.
“I want you to remain non partisan but visibly pro democratic even as you show great delivery in your work schedule.
” I want the men of the Nigerian Army to continue to maintain discipline and respect yourself even as you work as a team with other agencies instead of attacking them.
” Let me assure you that government will continue to stand by the families of the fallen heros who paid the Supreme price in defense of our nation” said Tinubu.
The Commander in Chief commended the wives of military personnel for keeping the home front while there husbands sacrificed their lives in the service to the defense of the nation.
He said that he was happy that the conference has become a tradition aimed at fixing National security to enable them to draw lessons from training and operations.
“I believe that the fate of our nation depends on the strength of our armed forces and I believe you have done well… Turning to the Army Chief he went on: ” Lagbaja well done”
On the recent Kaduna mishap, the Commander in Chief went on,  “I see it as a compound tragedy. It is painful to see harm befall those we are sworn to protect.  I wish we can take it back and erase the harm done to the people but it’s impossible.
” I will surely look into the issue of compensation but take it from me, there is a limit with which any of us can talk about the matter. This is because no amount of Compensation can bring back human lives.
” Those who attempt to break our societies will surely fail. We shall continue to protect the country as expected.
” I want you to use the conference to unfold ways to reinvent counter actions and activities that works against our enemies “
While commending the Army on their battle against terrorism and banditry, the Commander in chief  President Tinubu urged them to work on their intelligence and communication skills to move the Army to the next level.
In his remarks, Governor Babagana Zulum acknowledged the increase in effectiveness of the kinetic actions taken by the military against the insurgents
The Governor suggested that the fastest way to end the lingering insurgency in the state is to take over strategic areas and build military bases in such areas.
Without stating if the Mandara Mountains is for the Airforce, Sambisa for the Army and the lake Chad area is for the navy, the governor stated that this will maintain increased and continuous operations along those areas known as havens for the terrorists.
” I believe that the best way to end this war is to build military bases in Sambisa forest, Mandara Mountains and the lake Chad region.
” when this is done, I believe the investment in high class technology is also vital for the complete pin down of the area.”
The Governor called on the pressure on the insurgents to be sustained with more vigour so that the war will end once and for all.
