Prince Adewole Adebayo

Ahead of Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory poll, former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has revealed that bad leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is the country’s biggest problem.

He disclosed this at an event in Abuja on Thursday.

Adebayo said that Tinubu’s administration has allegedly allowed mismanagement to thrive in the past two years.

“The biggest mistake in Nigeria today is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Years of mismanagement have allowed our resources to be misused, but they cannot take away our intelligence or our voice,” he said.

He noted that the impact of bad governance is visible across public services, with hospitals neglected and foreign contractors taking resources without benefiting communities.

According to him, ideally, the government should exist for the people, not otherwise.

“Government exists for the people. We must ensure our votes are protected and demand transparency, including electronic transmission of election results.”

The National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Professor Abubakar Gombe, urged residents to cast their votes during Saturday’s poll for competence, character, and capacity to lead effectively.

In his part, Simon Obinna, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) candidate for the SDP, said the city centre belongs to all residents, indigenes and non-indigenes alike, stressing that the council must be administered as a shared civic space that guarantees fairness, equity, and equal opportunity.

According to him, “AMAC is not the private estate of any individual or group.”
