Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and producer, has replied to criticism from a worried netizen, who questioned her decision to wear a ring on her “marriage finger” despite her divorce.
The netizen, known as @OriretanHonour on X, suggested that the actress should not continue to wear the ring because it may dissuade future suitors.
He wrote: “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might chase away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise.”
In response, Akindele dismissed the concern, saying her priority is financial stability.
“I need money! That’s the koko,” she wrote.
Funke Akindele has been married and divorced twice.
She married her first spouse, Mr. Oloyede, on May 26, 2012, but the pair split in July 2013, citing irreconcilable differences. Her second marriage to JJC Skillz terminated in 2022, after they had twins together.
In an interview with Wazobia FM last year, Akindele discussed her marriage past, claiming that getting divorced twice does not make her a failure.
