Retired General Nick Agbogun has led 600,000 members of APC in Delta to join the PDP.
The ceremony took place at Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of State on Tuesday.
The decampees  attributed the failure of  APC to fulfil its electioneering campaign promises for the people as reason for their action.
At the Agbor Government Field where the defectors were received by the state Governor, Dr lfeanyi Okowa, the decampees in the midst of other  PDP supporters, alleged that APC lost touch with the people over its abysmal failure to meet the yearnings of the people, adding that their decision to dump the party for PDP was informed by the abrasive nature of the party’s leadership.‎
The leader of the decampees,Gen Nick Agbogun (rtd) however tasked PDP members on unity and cohesion within the party, adding that the unity of the party will be imperative for a winning driving force, and assured the party of his support including that of the 600,000 other members who also decamped from APC to PDP.
But the state Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, in his remarks, assured the decampees of equal opportunities, promising that they will not regret their decision to join the PDP family and restated his commitment towards developing the state in line with his government’s policies and programmes.
The Governor said that in all standards, APC  has nothing to offer to Deltans and Nigerians, stressing that his  administration will continue to do its best to provide the basic infrastructure to the people of the state and urged the decampees to join hands with him to ensure a successful administration.
He said: “My administration is sure of coming back in 2019, APC has nothing to show on ground, it’s a work over for us because Deltans are ready to accept us back in 2019. So the decampees will be treated same like old members of the PDP family, it’s the only Party in the state, others exist in nothing”.
