The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division Nigerian Army Rukuba, Maj-Gen. Nuhu Angbazo,  has charged three newly-promoted Brigadiers-general to give clear directives to their subordinates as commanders.

Angbazo gave the charge on Tuesday at the decoration of Brigadiers-General Francis Etim, Samuel Nwafor and Oladele Arogundade  at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba.

He said that it was the responsibility of the generals to point the way forward for those they were leading and then brace up for the new responsibilities.

“You are at a critical level in your profession where much is needed from you.

“It is no longer a band wagon as each of you would be singled out for whatever you do.

“As part of the decoration we have you a staff of office, a swagger stick which is a sign of authority.

Angbazo expressed confidence in the ability of officers as they had carried out the assignments given to them.

The GOC said that he had personally appreciated officers for what they had done for the Division.

He thanked the Chief of Army Staff for finding three of them from the Division worthy of the promotion as brigadiers general.

Nuhu also thanked the wives of the new generals for being pillars of support for the senior officers.

According to him,  the generals couldn’t have achieved what they achieved alone without their wonderful families.

Maj-Gen. Gabriel Ochigbano, Military Secretary, Army, told the new generals from this moment on, the only thing that would single them out were the extras they were willing to do to promote the course of Nigerian Army.
