Monday Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has suspended his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Felix Osemwengie Isere, following allegations of unauthorized fundraising linked to a proposed oil and gas summit in the state.

The suspension was conveyed on Tuesday through a statement issued in Benin City by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Umar Ikhilor.

According to the SSG, the state government has also ordered the immediate cancellation of the planned summit, which was earlier scheduled to commence on August 7.

“Consequent upon this breach, the proposed summit stands suspended, and Mr Felix Osemwengie Isere is hereby directed to refund all monies collected from donors in connection with the event,” Ikhilor stated.
