I Wish Nigeria Was A Better Country, Says Simi

Afrobeats singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has expressed pride in being a Nigerian, stressing that her favourite thing about the country is the spirit of the citizens, which she claims can’t be replicated by foreigners.

The Joromi crooner, however, said she wished Nigeria were a better country, adding that if the country were working, citizens wouldn’t be migrating en masse.

Speaking in a recent episode of the 90s Baby Show, Simi said, “My favourite thing about Nigeria is just the spirit of Nigerians. You can’t replicate it.

“They always fake East Africa and South African accents. Being a Nigerian doesn’t just come as naturally, it just feels like home.

“That is why I wish the country was better. Because I feel like no one would want to leave.”
