If Not for God, Ekiti Would Have Been Roasted, Says Speaker

Had it not been the prayers of the church and the entire people of Ekiti State, its entire populace would have been roasted.
This was the view expressed by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. lKola Oluwawole, while speaking at a programme of the 2015 Annual Sisters’ Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ekiti Province 1, at the weekend.
According to a statement signed by the Speaker’s Special Assistant (Media), Stephen Gbadamosi, Oluwawole, who quoted Psalm 124 from the Bible, said; “if it had not been the Lord, what would the people of Ekiti do? If not that the church has been praying for us, the enemies would have roasted us.
“I thank God for the life of the ‘mummy of the region,’ Pastor (Mrs) Olayinka Temitope, I thank God for the life of our governor’s wife who is also a prayer warrior. Our government covets more of these prayer programmes. God answers prayers of women. So, we need your prayers the more.
“The Lord, I assure you, is taking Ekiti to greater heights and no gate of hell shall prevail against it.”
Earlier, in a welcome sermon, wife of the pastor-in-charge of RCCG, Ekiti Province 1, Pastor (Mrs) A. A. Oyesola, said the theme of the five-day convention, “Parents As Shepherds,” was apt, “considering the fact that we are currently operating in the season of the great shepherd. The Psalmist declares in Psalm 23 verse 1 that ‘the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.’
“For us to be shepherd-parents, we must get connected with the Lord, our great Shepherd; be sheep under His care and strictly follow His instructions.
“It is my sincere prayer that as we gather in this convention, the spirit of the Lord will satisfy us with good things and we will all have unique experience that will mark a turning point in our lives, families, finances, ministries and our churches in Jesus name.”
