Ireland Woos Nigerians to 5,000 English Language-taught Courses

The Trade Representative for Enterprise Ireland in Nigeria, Mrs Thessa Bagu on Thursday advised young Nigerians to avail themselves of the Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology’s 5,000 English Language-taught courses.

Bagu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the Irish
government would continue to open its doors to Nigerians to acquire
“affordable and internationally-acceptable standard’’ education.

The Trade Representative, who recalled that many Nigerians had
benefited from Irish educational institutions in the past, assured
young Nigerians of qualitative education in Irish Universities and
Institutes of Technology.

“We really want young Nigerians to know that we currently have about 5,000 English Language-taught courses in different Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology, for them.

“We want young Nigerians to know that Ireland is most known for high standard education, which have been of benefit to many Nigerians since the end of colonial rule.

“There are many courses in English Language in these institutions that young Nigerians should take advantage of, so that when they graduate, they can work for the best organisations in the world,’’ Bagu said.

The Irish Government official also said that there would be
opportunities for every foreign students in the Irish universities and
Institutes of Technology to work during their vacations and earn
money.

Bagu said that it was imperative for Nigerians to see their
investment in education as an investment for the future.

She said that there would be an Irish Universities and Institute of
Technology Education Fair at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, on Sept.27 and at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, on Sept. 30.

Bagu, therefore, enjoined Nigerians to register for and attend the Education Fairs in Lagos and Abuja, “free of charge”.

She expressed optimism that the attendance pf Nigerians at the fairs would afford them the opportunity to interact directly with and ask relevant questions from representatives of the institutions.
