Japan’s ex-PM Shot Campaigning for Sunday’s Election

Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Shot has been shot while campaigning in the city of Nara.

The 67-year-old is in “grave condition”, his successor, Fumio Kishida, said on Friday, while local media, citing fire department officials, said the former prime minister was showing “no vital signs” and was in a state of cardiac arrest.

Police said a 41-year-old male suspect has been arrested at the scene.
