Jigawa Council Inaugurates Hajj Committee

Kiyawa Local Government Council in Jigawa has constituted a 13-member committee to ensure adequate preparations for the 2016 Muslim Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The Information Officer of the council, Malam Balarabe Abdullahi, gave this indication while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Duste on Monday.
The spokesperson of the council said the committee would be headed by the Chairman of the Council’s Caretaker Committee,Alhaji Abdullahi Sulaiman, while Malam Adamu Ibrahim would serve as its Secretary.
According to him, other members of the committee are three District Heads, Chief Imam of the council, representatives of Nigeria Immigration Service, Police, State Security Service, health workers and Zonal Office of the Pilgrims Welfare Board.
He explained that the committee was to ensure timely preparation and proper management of the 62 Hajj seats allocated to the council by the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The spokesperson quoted the chairman as saying that the committee would take adequate measures to ensure that only indigenes of the area were given the slots.
