The Edo State Governorship Election on Tuesday struck out the names of Osagie Ize-Iyamu and All Progressives Congress (APC) as Respondents/parties in the petition filed by the ADP against INEC, PDP and Godwin Obaseki.
The election was held September last year and produced Godwin Obaseki as winner by defeating his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the APC and many others.
The Tribunal held that, having lost the election they can’t be necessary parties to the petition.
It also held that Ize-Iyamu and APC have constituted themselves as miniature Petitioners contrary to the extant provisions of the First Schedule to the Electoral Act 2010, as Amended.
Both political parties, AA and APP, claim they were unlawfully excluded from partaking in the September 19 election.
