Kamala Harris Reacts to Georgia Shooting, Mourns 4 Victims

The US vice-president and Democratic nominee for the forthcoming presidential election, Kamala Harris has described the gun violence at the Apalachee High School in Georgia State as a senseless tragedy.

DAILY POST reports that a 14-year-old suspected shooter on Wednesday opened fire on students and teachers in the school, killing at least four persons.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, nine other persons, including a teacher and eight students, were hospitalized after the incident.

Reacting, the VP in a statement on her official X handle, condemned the incident, saying “we must end the epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all”.

She wrote, “Today, Doug and I are mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short by gun violence at Apalachee High School in Georgia.

“Our hearts are with the students, teachers, and families impacted by this shooting, and we are grateful to the first responders and law enforcement on the scene.

“This is a senseless tragedy — and it does not have to be this way”.
