Kamala Harris to Deliver Closing Speech in Washington DC Ahead of US Election

Kamala Harris

US Vice President and presidential candidate of the Democrats for the 2024 US elections, Kamala Harris, is expected to deliver what her campaign refers to as a ‘closing argument’ tonight at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C.

Recall that the Republican candidate Donald Trump held a rally on January 6, 2021, shortly before his supporters stormed the Capitol.

Reports have it that the candidates for the 2024 US Elections are hosting their final campaign events this week to secure support from everyone, especially those who have yet to decide on a candidate.

Harris’s event is set for 8:00 p.m. local time (11:00 p.m. GMT) and is expected to attract an audience of over 20,000.

Unlike direct popular voting, US presidents are elected through the Electoral College. Each state has a set number of electors based on its representation in Congress (House and Senate), totaling 538 electors. A candidate needs a majority of 270 electoral votes to win, Tribune Online earlier reported.
